We lost our exports when the CCP decided to openly punish us for not submitting to their demands not to expose things they wish to remain hidden or else.
Our government and authorities are not that far behind the CCP in deception and control, hence the mess we are in currently. I realise that is being dictated from a global power base but I also think that China is largely immune from that global control and our fate. As the rest of the world continues to weaken by being destroyed from within, those global powers lose their ability to control the CCP.
At some stage China is going to make an example of another country to show case it's power. If there is no meaningful response they will beat their chests as they expand their power and revenge for all the wrongs they have received in the past.
They might feign an attack on Taiwan as an excuse to make that country Japan, which could be a mistake unless they did actually use nuclear weapons and the rest of the world froze in terror.
