IMO, companies and countries can stop testing all they like, but if you are to cross borders ie coming into Australia/NZ for example, the arrival countries will want to make sure you are negative and not going to start another outbreak. Whilst I'm also not sure if governments will want a Covid-oven like squeezing 100,000 people into the MCG for an AFL grand final, then having a large percentage of people contracting and then spreading the virus afterwards.
Also about herd immunity, the current vaccine is less effective against the newer strains, so...
