instead of wasting time, money and effort Ms Ley should understand that the UNESCO decision was mooted 3 years ago (when China was not Chair). The decision is, as always, founded on data and evidence of bleaching. The Reef is indeed under threat and has been for a decade.
UNESCO only backed off the declaration of the Reef being endangered due to the same efforts Ms Ley is making this year. but lobbying nations won't help the Reef or changed its endangered status.
Apart from a ½ $b donation to the mining companies slush fund for tax avoidance, lobbying and advertising in time of elections the Gov has done zero to reduce emissions of the greenhouse gases causing the threat to the Reef.
