Klarna could still just be weighing up their options. I doubt Zip are in on any of Klarna decision makings at this point if they haven't even chosen to reveal their holdings above 5%.
Klarna have all the info they need with the Zip reports. An offer could be made to Zip without warning and they can't just sit about waiting for one. They have to act and therefore consolidate branding under the assumption that they aren't going to be given a take over offer.
In all likelihood, Klarna had no clue Zip was about to rebrand.
