median house prices increased in six of the eight capital cities during the March quarter 2004. Canberra and Darwin median house prices increased at a faster rate in the March quarter compared to the December quarter, up 11.7% to $377,800 in Canberra, and up 13.0% to $260,000 in Darwin. In other cities, median house prices were up in Sydney 4.0% to $520,000; Adelaide 1.3% to $243,000; Perth 2.8% to $242,800 and Hobart 3.9% to $235,000. Melbourne median house prices were down 0.8% to $368,000, with Brisbane down 1.4% to $345,000.
