@pintohoo; thanks for the advice, as Victorians we're already accustomed to most of what you just detailed. We can indeed organise for home deliveries and do purchase quite a lot online, fortunately though it hasn't come to that as yet.
Fortunately for us, we designed our house to have the main bedroom and baths at opposite ends of the building and our garage is a separate structure, My wife and I could manage living apart at opposite ends of the house - we even have two entertainment units! The kitchen would have to be shared, then again she needs to lose weight and I'm a vegetarian!
