For me its a shame, its not a restructure its simply selling off non controlling interests in various divisions, which is fine. But its how they invest the proceeds that will make or break tls.
Its a shame because imo a real restructure would have involved breaking up tls into its various divisions ,employing 'one' ceo for each division therefore imo absolutely making tls more agile, efficient etc and if the ceo doesn't perform sack him or her.The divisions should not be under the same roof as tls they are lge enough to be stand alone co's or made lge enough. ie tls energy etc.
Stand alone businesses.
-tls retail.
-tls telecommunications.(global/domestic connectivity)
-tls health.
-tls energy.
-tls nas/purple/enterprise.
etc any other sector tls enters.all with their own ceo and controlled by a head ceo/chairman/board.(iv'e lost count of the tls energy managers already on the books).
Tls is fast becoming a marketing co,not a technology co.If tls wants leading technology they buy it,thats fine. But then tls must start taking full advantage of its competitive advantages that is imo being australia's leading marketing co,having australia's largest customer base. This is not happening under penn imo.
A successful marketing co requires good customer service tls's customer service is a disgrace.I phoned foxtel twice the other day, short wait not to many options and i got to speak to a human. If tls's divisions were broken up their customer service would improve imo.If it doesn't sack that relevant ceo.
