IMO ... more likely a bot/insto going long a parcel of chip stocks, maybe BRN, WBT AND 4DS ... (plus others?) If you look at the ticker for them all - it's similar for all three today. A Technical long perhaps.

BUT

If you plug all three into here https://www.shortman.com.au/stock?q=wbt You will note a significant difference up until July 20 (last available date)

Then if you consider https://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt valid for the 23rd ... you will see a very small short for 4DS, none for BRN and a reasonable amount for WBT on the day.

Therefore I suspect there are two things happening (possibly) ... an algo long on a bunch of chip stocks - maybe ETF associated ??? AND a fairly minimal short position build on WBT ( 0.4% of stock) and the start of a significant short on BRN (3.4% of stock) BUT effectively zero short on 4DS.

I wonder what that all means? lol Interesting what data is available for all to see?
