In other words, the authors are saying the virus was in China way before it was first detected. And going to an earlier post that would be proved correct if the Chinese allowed blood samples as well from earlier periods.

Try moving from Italy to China for work. Not easy is the point. The likely scenario as the wuthors of the report say, is it orginated in China much earlier than first reported there.
