As a shareholder of BLY there have been rumours floating around that there will be a SPP. Even though there are benefits to a SPP for shareholders i believe at these levels it will dilute the company too much. To create maximum value for all holders at the moment the only thing the management should do is try and offload assets amd lower costs which they are both doing. This will diliver stronger profits and create a more efficient company down the track. As credit markets calm down and banks becomming more willing to lend in a low interest rate enviroment BLY should imbrace leveraging and have faith in the banking system rather than rasing money through equity at these insane prices to pay them off. They should allow their debts to be paid down organically through profits which they are more than capable of acheving. It might take 3-5 years but it'll come out of this in better shape and IMO create the maximum value for all shareholder.
