Waihi north project, page-6

Don't underestimate the political backlash that proposal is going to receive. Seriously... the shadow of Pike River still remains and there are strong parallels with this project and Pike. Yes, sure, different material being mined and I wouldn't think there would be much methane with Waihi North.

But don't forget we have a Government with an accidental Prime Minister in power over here with absolute majority that pretty much hates anything remotely connected with mining or business. And they're tied up with a so called Green Party thats really should be called the Watermelon party. And that area is pretty much their "ancestral" home.
I see Waihi North getting tied up in Environmental Court for years to come. Then wait for the local tangata whenua to get stuck in...

I seriously wouldn't see Waihi North as feasible for a decade at least the way things move over here.
