if you haven’t read enough posts to know that they are consistently misogynistic and sexist you’ve missed them. It’s a fiction and more misogynistic than it is sexist. There’s a reason they use attractive women in car ads and it isn’t because women buy them. There’s a reason that luxury items are often targeting men - because men have a habit of buying them for their wives and lovers. Boats. Hmm pretty sure they target men. Farm equipment and tools. Men’s stuff. reading Qantas magazine or the magazines in their reading racks weren’t exactly targeting women but I guess you had to be a frequent flyer to know that.

other then misogyny however it is also an example of cognitive dissonance. We will continue to notice and reinforce those things that match our interests, beliefs and preferences. We will, if necessary, ignore or explain away that which would otherwise give us a headache.
