Logco, it was not gold standard in Victoria nor Gold standard in NSW. The reality is they both had to react the specific situation at the time Taking account the nature of the outbreak and the extent of community transmission.
When Victoria was going through its woes it was Bereljkian that claimed the NSW Gold standard contact tracing meant they did not need lockdowns and having a shot at Victoria in the process. Yet NSW faces an outbreak and lockdown that might outpass the one in Victoria last year. So with a BS Gold Standard and the benefit of experience from past events NSW is still currently facing a crisis that is deepening by the day. Victoria did not back in 2020 have the benefit of any vacccination program including Age Care Centres where most of the deaths occurred. Thats because the Morrison govt did not deliver any vaccines until Feb 2021.
The Liberals delighted in pointing the fingers at Victoria who did not have the benefit of vaccines for the Aged in 2020 and claimed NSW was the gold standard and did not need lockdowns. Now that has fallen apart and their hubris and credibility has been shot.
