If Australia reaches 70% vaccination coverage across all age groups and the vaccine spreads as Australia is opened up, the number of Australian deaths will be about

25,000,000 * 1% * 30% = 75,000

I consider that “many deaths”. Perhaps they are inconsequential for you. They will not be for their families.

But what is the alternative? Continue to lockdown for the benefit of those who refuse to vaccinate when it is available? The lockdown would never end as too many anti-vaxxers will not change due to being brainwashed.
