Australian politicians are unique. We had a gov't heavy who failed to declare a Paddington Bear when returning to Oz and thus avoiding the import duty and also an MP who tried to get a colour TV through customs by declaring it as a black and white TV which had a lower rate of import duty. We witnessed another witless MP who forgot he owned a half interest in a concreting company while another MP who couldn't move from his kitchen to his bathroom without submitting a travel allowance claim form. Our parliaments are a harlequinade which have kept us entertained for many years now. Yes it has come at a high price but you have to pay top price for the best.
