Quick fresh milk shelf allocation analysis at my local Coles in Sydney (Wentworth Point).
Context: Wentworth Point has a fairly high Asian community, mainly dominated by couples and small/young families.
Summary:
- A2M fresh milk (ranging 3L to 1L) taking up total of 4 rows of 3L, 17 rows of 2L, 9 rows of 1L.
- Dairy farmers A2, 2 rows (noting reduced to clear)
- Coles non-A2M, 24 rows 3L, 9 rows 2L, 14 rows 1L (noting reduced to clear).
Conclusion:
Happy too see continued growth of A2M shelf space over time, noting that these are larger than last year. Is it possible that A2M is buying shelf space, or the shelf space is directly a function of sales and Coles is ensuring bay space matches sales for maximum total sales.
