If there is gold there then you can be almost guaranteed that the news will leak out before any ASX Announcement.
If they find Au today I suspect insiders (or proxies acting on behalf if those in the know) will start accumulating...
Sometimes most of the rally is done' by the time ASX Ann comes out ...
They may have already found something ...?
