You clearly have a lot of learning ahead of you regarding pilot-scale testing and upscaling fundamentals.

The actual cost of producing the 20 tonnes is largely irrelevant.

When you do some more research, you will learn that the whole point of the pilot plant was to demonstrate technical capability (BG product) and determine the KEY requirements of the production process that determine viability, including:
REAGENTS + ENERGY + EQUIPMENT


"If the 20 ton you produced was not profitable, how will it be profitable when you scale to 2,000t/pa or 10,000t/pa?"

That is just a really poor attempt to sow some seeds of FUD for any new visitors here. WOW.
The ACTUAL cost of a new product at pilot scale (or prototype machine etc) will NEVER represent the actual cost of commercial production. It simply allows you to demonstrate technical viability (or product quality/functionality) whilst determining and de-risking key elements of the process, from which the design and costs of an up-scaled operation can be estimated.

You perhaps forget that Pablo has run commercial lithium brine operations, and is acutely aware of the translation of costs etc from industrial-pilot to commercial scale. Not to mention being able to do what was proclaimed by many self-appointed experts as impossible - make BG carbonate from our "low quality" resource with "too much magnesium".
It has been DONE.
We will be selling commercial product soon enough, at massive margins into a booming demand profile.
