I agree with you that an announcement is needed to keep zip at these levels e.g. Klarna
At the moment there is alot of tailwind comparison in valuations between x and y but if reality sets in that we now have quadpay against square+afterpay then it could tumble back. Sezzle for example has not seen this kind of move, maybe due to lack of shorts covering
