Personally I wouldn't be focusing too much on nickel free batteries for the EV market, Nickel is where its at. The EV market will be huge and its future is reliant on copper and nickel and you can forget the laterite nickel space, its not clean enough and the quality is not there and its expensive to produce, sulfides are what you want and I personally have some substantial investments in these.
Both Nickel and Copper will be in very short supply when the EV market really kicks off in the next two years and we have both in abundance. Our sulfides at Mt Venn are widespread and could be some of the best in Australia, previous management believe it to be up there with Sirius's Nova discovery which sold for up to $2 billion (I can't remember exactly without looking up my notes). Management have been zeroing in on the sulphide "neck" at the Eastern Mafic since the initial discovery back in 2017 and when they find it anyone with a reasonable GBR holding will be able to retire. Mt Venn also has good copper grades and
importantly they have also identified copper in recent Mulga Bill drilling. It will be interesting to see what the current diamond holes tell us about that.
I am here for the nickel but its expensive to explore because it can be so hit and miss, but the rewards are spectacular. Finding the elusive neck will take a few holes unless we are very lucky and do it on the next one and I do believe we are very close.
Andrew is not a nickel man IMO, his passion and expertise is in gold and he has done very well with these new discoveries and full credit to him. I just hope he doesn't give away the jewel in our Mt Venn crown too easily, I would like to see him put a specialist project manager onto Mt Venn so that we can develop it ourselves, allowing him to fully focus on the gold, which is what he wants to do. We could easily raise the cash to drill Mt Venn with minimal dilution once the share price is re-rated on the back of these gold discoveries. If we can get there, just 20 million shares at $1.00 would do it for us no problem. Being in the right place at the right time has never been truer given the development of the EV market in this coming super commodity cycle.
