IMO BHP could damage both shorts & longs atm. With continuing high levels of short sales [50.75% on Wed] any institutional investor seeking to buy into BHP could do so without sending the SP into the stratoshpere. Tight stops either way may spike the SP.
IMO we need to be asking the questions that matter rather than trying to impact on the direction of the SP. For me the fundamental question is how is well is BHP placed to weather any worsening of the GFC and to take advantage of improving economic conditions?
IMO Kloppers report on China & India therefore makes compelling reading.
