My internal musings have come up with another possibility for a corporate transaction. A share placement. Issue shares of the company to a corporate (like WD) at a price well above market.
This would solve WD's insider trading dilemma, and getting shares off-market prevents a runaway share price.
All shareholders benefit as the company will be instantly revalued to around the issue price, as the value is validated by a commercial entity.
