"There is a clear ravine between the two sides of the debate. This has left shareholders holding on for dear life as the regulators balance their local and federal political interests. One of the outcomes favours our "national interest", the other favours the increasingly powerful foreign interests. One side of the ravine is encouraging the use of the NOPTA rules, the other is supporting the continuous juggling act. Sailing on by, the oil and gas industry is watching very closely to observe what the decision will be and afterwards they will act accordingly."
