Krug, the issue is management will do very well even if they don't hit their LTIs. Hitting LTIs is just an extra bonus if you like.
That's what I mean about the incentives not being aligned with shareholders interests. The ideal situation is where if shareholders are hurt then management are hurt, and where shareholders are rewarded then management are rewarded.
History has shown the greatest business have been developed this way. Think Berkshire. Think coca cola. Think amazon. Think Apple. Think fortescue metals.
