Eleven new battery cars and again almost as many hybrids
Stellantis has announced more details about its e-plans.
The E variants of the high-roof station wagons from Peugeot, Opel and Citroen will make the start this year. Shortly afterwards, the plug-in hybrid variants of the Opel Astra and Peugeot 308 will be launched, and next year's plans include two Fiat commercial vehicles and the first electric Maserati - the battery variant of the Grecale midsize SUV.
The U.S. brand Jeep is also launching a pure e-car, albeit not until early 2023, and Dodge is at least planning a plug-in hybrid for 2022. The commercial vehicle and pickup brand RAM is foregoing e-mobility altogether for the time being.
In contrast to the moderate pace overseas, the European model programs are to be rapidly electrified. DS will launch exclusively electric cars from 2024, Lancia from 2026, premium supplier Alfa Romeo is to be fully electrified from 2027, and volume manufacturer Opel will become a pure e-brand in 2028.
