That is bordering on Qanon type conspiracy, covid happened just like the Spanish flu.
We had a similar event in QLD, it was called the Hendra virus, a stable of horses and their trainer died, we got lucky it did not get out.
Every company that shows promise will be followed by manipulating creeps for their own benefit, some are shorters some people trying to bring the price down to accumulate shares.
Nothing unusual it happens all the time.

For me it is a good sign we are onto something with a future. Each to his own but that is what I think.
