A reminder of Dr T's post back on 8 June:
"As far as I can find there has never been a trial of just clofarabine and fludarabine being used on their own in r/r AML patients, but in all the trials where they have been used in combination with other drugs the response rate is very high, often over 80%."
That makes me think that a response rate of anything less than 90% on this trial is going to be considered a failure. So even if the first 8 patients get a 100% response rate, we really can't get too excited until we get all of the results. If the next 2 patients don't respond well then we're in trouble.
Given that recruitment alone is estimated to take 18 months, I can't see that we'll be in a position to pop any champagne corks anytime soon.
