Myself included, many have traded ST to either reap a ST profit, or in my case to increase the net holding. However pretty much netted out even since May - a good learning exercise in the art of timing and patience. Still managed to end up with at 6c average which am holding for the LT. And then there's the CG tax - once the shares hit 18c (which is an inevitability unless the entire REIT sector tanks), I'll hit the 45% CGT threshold, and at 16.5 (highest on Friday) pretty close to that as it is. So in in for the LT (at least a year) after which the GCT halves. Each to their own, but am happy to s
sit it out and wait. Given the sp increases, would have liked a bigger holding, but I remind myself that on the basis of perceived risk earlier in the year, the cash invested was the max could justify losing. So can't complain having worked through the numbers. I recall (apologies if wrong), but Nursey noted something similar a month or 2 back - you should only invest as much as you are prepared to lose. In the case of VPG, while not out of the forest yet, things are looking better - for nostalgia, read through the posts 2009 through to April - the sentiment has changed massively since then, and as such those that bought and held large positions took the risk and with a little more time we should reap the benefits. And of course, when she climbs, in a year or so, hopefully divies - and they'll cover the cost of the shares in the first yeat with a bit of luck. Good fortune to all LT holders!
