Shipping 8GW of hydrogen in compressed gaseous form to customers in Asia does not seem remotely viable because the energy density of gaseous hydrogen is way too low. The ship they're proposing is full size but can only carry 2000 tonnes. By contrast, a typical LNG carrier can transport 52500 tonnes, some ~26x more by mass.

    Some number crunching:

To transport their 8GW worth of hydrogen to Japan they'll be loading ships every 8 hours, and will need a fleet of about 86 ships. The ships will burn about 30% of their cargos just to make the return trip. The amount of money spend on chartering these vessels will exceed the revenue they could hope to bring in from the remaining hydrogen.
