OK - we're straying a bit off-topic here, but it may be useful to others who read it.

Yes - OBV can be used - just be aware that it can be changed dramatically by those big-volume spike days. Also, it tends to lag behind the action a bit more. But it's still very useful.

The other indicators I use are mainly the ones you quote - the MACD (along with its histogram), and the ADX, as well as the EMAs (I use 13, 26, and 100 for the EMA time periods), and the Bollinger Bands.

That's it really. There are hundreds of indicators, but they all are derived from the same things - price and volume. It's very easy to make TA far too complicated. Pick 2 or 3 indicators, and become very familiar with them.

If the chart points up - buy
If the chart points down - sell

It really is as simple as that. Don't make it too complicated. The only other advice would be to learn how to use stoplosses properly (I use manual stops, not automatic) and to learn to obey your trading rules. Every time. With no emotion.

This, of course, doesn't apply to stocks you may want in your portfolio as long-term investments, like LYC etc. I'm referring only to trading stocks, and to TA.

    Usual disclaimers, DYOR, etc.

And my nick was given to me about 20+ years ago by work colleagues, due to my working hours around the clock. I've been using it on all forums ever since. :)
