The science of global warming isn't even complicated, five minutes on wikipedia will reveal that CO2 is more opaque to infra-red than visible light. Thus it will trap outgoing IR radiation but let in the sun, making things warmer the more there is. Do some quick calculations on CO2 emissions over the last few decades compared to total atmospheric volumes and you'll see that we've already substantially increased the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere since preindustrial times, therefore ceteris paribus its going to get warmer the more CO2 you emit.
