Another interesting question to ponder on a sleepy Thursday afternoon.
As we are very aware we have many irons in the fire.
BP3 has openly said in the press yesterday that Fixed odds will be up and running on or before Labour day which is the 6th of September.
Many casinos and bookmakers need to sign up to fixed odds at some stage in the near future to allow them to have a book on NJ racing.
Other USA states/horsemen/clubs would be close to signing agreements with BETmakers subject to state approval.
The TAB are wanting a piece of the USA pie and would be well aware that an agreement sooner rather than later with BET makers would assure them some security moving forward and alliances with BET would ease the stress of the demerger and ensuing Australian state contracts that are up for tender in the next 18-24 months. They would fully realise that being in bed with us will ensure some comfort moving forward.
There is also irons in the fire aiming at the 18-25 yo market moving forward which would involve fantasy gaming , sweep stakes and live betting which fits into the FOX window of opportunity I would think.
We are also treading on a lot of toes at the moment so we would have to be a possible target for acquisition but the numbers would have to be 2.5-3 billion to make many major shareholders budge.
So the answer my little “tinkler” is how long is a piece of string.
