You kids of today have it way too easy...
My brothers and I used to have to walk 10kms to school in winter with ice on the ground without shoes.
We would race each other to stand in fresh cow dung, then wait for it to dry so we had soemthing on our feet to keep out the cold.
We used to scrunch up newspapers to plug the holes in the walls of the farmhouse to keep the chill wind out.
