    Morning All

This is such a wild ride, so hope we have all had time to catch our breath. Just caught up with some of the very interesting speculation about IPs and 'what is happening' in this aptly named thread.

I am trying to work backwards from what MC highlighted about South Korea. If I'm not wrong he mentioned their massive 450 billion investment in the semiconductor space and that it eclipses our mining industry in dollar terms ? It's possible they're best placed financially to have a specialised foundry to make Archer's prototypes commercially. They could well be the first out of the gate with this.
The chip industry in general is more concerned with addressing the current supply shortage of the silicon based variety. Once everyone gets their supply going there is going to be a predictable glut. The Archer prototypes are about a different material and different applications. Perhaps a dedicated foundry or two will become important.
While TSMC ( Taiwan) and Samsung may be still dominant with chip foundries, Intel has plans and ambitions and is hoping for US government subsidies to overtake the Asian giants. There is an arms race of sorts to go down to 3 and 2 nanometres and a switch to carbon nanotubes made from graphene. AMD will most probably join this race as well. Meanwhile if TSMC ramps up production to keep pace with current demand, analysts' number crunching says it will be a trillion dollar company. Will they then have cash to produce Archer's design and mitigate the effects of over supply of the silicon chips. If anyone can fine tune their supply, TSMC certainly have the experience to do it.

The industry and potential market that Archer is addressing is a massive global one. MC's 'ducks in a row' statement is super important. Meanwhile let me wax lyrical.... Wouldn't it be nice if an Australian company can be a catalyst in something bigger than it's current biggest industry, mining. How neat that a mining company has evolved into this.

    Enjoy.
And please DYOR for more context and feel free to correct/add to these attempts at research on my part.
