Hi ShortEverything.
People should remember that traders with short positions are betting the share price will go down and it is in their self interest to create fear, doubt, hesitation, conflict, etc., so as to achieve their desired goal.
The points being raised are easily rebutted and for example the statement that supply easily caught up with demand is true, but what was the reason.
The reason was that in the initial boom there were only five converters in China and their supply needs were easily met.
Move forward and due to Elon Musks Tesla cars the world has changed.
Generally speaking all automobile manufacturers on the planet are transitioning to EVs and away from ICEs due to Tesla and ESGs.
There are also electricity grid demands, etc..
Due to this exponential demand increase for raw materials ( lithium, nickel, copper,etc.. ) the now thirty odd converters in China, also increased demand from Europe and the U.S. cannot keep up and demand has outstripped supply and will do so, keeping pressure on prices, upwards and not downwards as can be seen in J.P. Morgan’s recent recommendation.
Even small raw material suppliers are needed to fill the gap, eg. CXOs recent off take and cap raise, but this all takes time.
One can also listen to Ron Barron, Kathy Woods, etc., and even short seller Carson Block to get a feel for direction.
Even notable shorters on Wall St. are coming out and saying how they have been burnt by being on the wrong side of the trade as they were wrong, because people will support the company with cash in cap raises with cheap interest rates.
The Fed will not destroy the economy with high rates.
Lower for longer with small increases to fine tune as they cannot pay the interest and it is better to grow the economy.
People ( think millennials and meme stock supporters/Reddit’s crowd ) are supporting the companies and and their goals.
Interesting future ahead and certainly there will be ups and downs although in my opinion the trajectory is upwards and not downwards.
