I read an opinion on another forum that when these sort of wells are shutdown oil flows into the area being pumped and possibly results in much higher initial flows when pumping recommences. The opinion was that this might compensate for lost volumes during shutdown.

I don't know whether this is true but if it is, and it is reflected in the next results then that would go a long way to rehabilitating the NDO image I would imagine.

It would basically make disconnections much less threatening.

Can anyone comment?
