Harold and Ya, I dont think Woodside is in that Joint Venture,...it is led by Chevron. Woodside of course have all their existing LNG trains plus the new one Pluto which is under development now.
Ya, the way I see the big picture is that the LNG market is rapidly becomming a buyers market and we are heading towards an excess of gas looking for a home. Not only all the existing undeveloped gas reserves on the Northwest shelf and Timor Sea but all the CBM reserves in Qld.
We are heading into a big gas bubble and even the majors will have a problem competing to get their undeveloped gas to market anytime in the next 10 years.
I am sure NXS will be aware of this and deal accordingly.
It is critical to be in partnership with a major if you want in to the LNG market but even then its no guarantee, as Karoon will find out when C-P give priority to CBM in Gladstone after having invested $8 billion already.
