The credit and equity markets are stronger now than they were then. As it turned out it was better to get investors to stump up back then before the latest losses were revealed, otherwise there would be less investor appetite obviously. Fear of throwing good money after bad. Did they know about these at the time btw? So business continues, but will they have their hand out again? Someone ring up and ask them to rule it out. I would be interested to hear the answer.
