great post pints.... but how could there be a fair competition between these two with Morrison trying ever so hard to come down to Albanese's degree of probability of winning..... hapless is a most apt title, much more polite than many I've heard used and a good descriptive.
as for a hung parliament, it worked brilliantly with the Gillard Gov and a great deal was achieved - whether one agrees with what was done is not the point here though. but wrt to this last concern, would you be so happy with Labor holding both Houses? perhaps your appreciation of Howard's achievements over those years is better than mine as I think much of the achievements of that period could have benefitted from amendments, the absence of which cost Howard his PMship, his Gov, and his seat.
Extreme policies, eg Whitlam as well as Howard, get passed into law when there is inadequate challenge of critical thinking.
