Update is due on Monday 24th, SHV is due to announce their full year results that day.
Indication from SHV is that they prefer not to own the orchards in their own right however if nothing else is forthcoming then they will consider that as a last resort if their bankers approve the purchase. SHV does have leverage given the scale of their operations, no-one else in Australia comes close to being able to manage the orchards.
Just on current conditions, winter rainfall has been poor. Not even one millimetre for August to date compared to mean rainfall of 30mm. Water allocations currently zero as expected.
The Australian Nut Industry Council Conference was due to be held in Melbourne today, if I can find any reports I'll post them later.
