religion, imo, is a delusion in which blind faith is the central tenet. in this way all religions are the same.

religious people are not more psychotic than any other demographic. they just believe..... and good luck to them - I wish I had the kind of mind that would accept such because constantly wondering abut the inconclusive evidence that there is..... is a waste of time.

As for the Taliban? I was expecting a bloody battle and summary executions, hangings and stonings. I'm encouraged that there have only been a few videos showing what appears to be Taliban men shooting a bunch of other men in courtyards etc.

the words of the leaders were not to be taken literally as yet. As one expert interviewed on SBS put it - wait 6 weeks for the international focus to shift and then we'll see if the Taliban is truthful (paraphrased).

As with religion, I can't put my faith in any terrorist organisation until we see long term freedoms enjoyed by all the people.... of course, under Sharia
