Haha don't let the stereotype of computer science fool you. It definitely exists, but if you want to be social and active then you do you. The biggest way to do that is work your working week and don't do overtime lol, keep that for doing other things you love.
Probably off topic for the thread (but hey, you've posted some great posts so why not). I've met a lot of my friends, and my partner, through work. My boss and best mate surf's, mountain bikes and loves hiking. I've been travelling around Australia since last November with my partner (who is also a programmer) and we both work remotely, hit the gym every morning and go exploring every day.
Don't let your job define you, it's the thing that makes you money to enjoy life. But also if your job is something you enjoy, you'll never work a day in your life
