Cytokine-based interventions
The current treatment for CS is mainly based on traditional anti-inflammatory drugs such as the administration of corticosteroids, chloroquine, and colchicines.210,211 Recently, biologics like recombinant cytokines; monoclonal antibodies against IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IFN-γ; and signaling pathway inhibitors are also available or in the pipeline for production. In this and the next section, we aim to discuss the key biologics that are currently or potentially applied to treat CS (Fig. 6).
