Ummm...I'm not sure if you do see my point. It's not about a sticker and its definitely not about Formula 1 fans.
Brand recognition is not just about promoting a brand on a visual level, or only by, as you say, established companies. They are trying to build a trusted company, and if they can do this, even in a small way by aligning to a trusted ambassador who holds similar beliefs and values, then it may help to establish Vulcan, even if it is only in a small way in the minds of the local community even if that is subconsciously. As some have mentioned before and has been written about in the media, opposition to geothermal extraction in the area is there.
If Vulcan can build trust and recognition, visibly or subconsciously, transform into a well known German listed Lithium and (you may be forgetting, or haven't researched properly) geothermal power company, then maybe it will play a small part in less local opposition during the permitting phase of the project. If they can build a more trusted company who is seen more aligned to environmental values as apposed to a foreign company, who people know nothing about coming in to raid the resources, then maybe it will play a small part in building a little more trust in the local community.
And i for one think that is money well spent...
