I held SPT a while back, even participated in the SPP at $1.30. I have posted a couple of times though that i packed up and took my money out as they took way to long to move and get significant awareness and market share. I was lucky to get out in time with a small profit - making that decision because i was concerned about the lack of real growth (not fluff % figures). So take my comments as someone thats not disgruntled, i also have no interest in buying back in so dont label me a 'shorter'. Just commenting as there seems to be a lot of emotional 'holding' on this

SPT have absolutely no moat. Someone mentioned a patent (which is a bit silly). SPT is no different to any other startup BNPL - they needed to move quick, capture enormous market share in order to have any chance of survival. The big fin institutions arent stupid. They can watch this stuff, see whether it is looking successful, then pour money in if it is and crush competition. Which is exactly what is happening now.
only the biggest bnpl will have a chance at survival - or they'll accept a takeover bid if it comes - APT was the absolute industry leader. BOOM - they knew the takeover from square was the most lucrative path.

dont get emotional about a stock. Its a business. More big fin companies are muscling in (therell be another big bank shortly). SPT had a great idea, they were just way too slow.

go ask your friends to name as many BNPLs as they can. Odds are nobody will mention SPT - but frighteningly for SPT some will now mention the newcomers - ie Ebay

i dont see this surviving anymore. I think the best that could happen is the SP will continue to plummet and when its worth a few cents someone might step in to buy the rights to whatever tech they have at firesale prices.

i think there's better alternatives for your hard earned right now rather than waiting for a miracle.

finally....if you bought anywhere near 1.40-1.50 where this stock spent a lot of time, youre now down 60 odd percent. Just to get your money back, the SP needs to run up 200% ( numbers even worse of you bought ATH around $1.80)

2019 & 2020 were the years for BNPL - you don't have that wave to ride anymore - only significant profit justifying a $200M MC company is going to help now - not hype.

my original buy-in was $1.58. If i was still holding now I'd tell myself to take the tax loss and invest elsewhere. If I'd bought in at IPO price, I'd tell myself to pat myself on the back and take my 150% profits now and ignore how high it had been. 150% is a good return in 2 years.

    good luck with your decision...
