In my view Technical Analysts (TA's) are driving the pricing swings in trying to pick the pricing movements.
The Fisher Transformation indicator nicely presents the backward trade pattern from the TA's and robotic trading activity (on/from volatility).
Most stock holders are however long on fundamentals and are therefore relatively unconcerned with the short-term pricing trends given this is driven by the above (TA's and algo trading). When there is a more volatile stock play then that is where they'll (TA's) will move their funds to cover.

TA's shorting RAC are taking significant risk. The shorters have been assisted with some management sell down, simply being actioned taken to rebalance their personal portfolios (management). But they along with most volume based stock holders are still well long in this equity. Why is this? Well because the whole investment opportunity still has to play out. Is this a risky stock? Well yes it is, without question. But if the trials prove positive then the gains to be realised should be significant. IMO what is more likely is a potential buy-out to take place within the next 24 months.
A buy-out with a EV (Enterprise Value) of $0.75M = ~$5.2 pps, an EV of $1.0B = ~6.9 pps, whilst an EV of $1.5B = ~10.4 pps, failing that a fallback to $0.5M = ~3.5 pps (based on current issued volume).
