IMO the logistics of getting material from Winu to Telfer would likely be a game breaker. Similar to my comment earlier about Minyari to Winu.

145 Kms+- Winu to Telfer as the crow flies.
If they can find a route that wiggles through the sand dunes it is going to be much longer.

Conveyor or slurry pipeline are possible alternatives with high initial Capex. Happens in South America and elsewhere for various reasons. More often to move concentrate though with slurry lines (e.g. New Century Qld).

Environmental damage to the dunes is too much to cut directly through. Tunnels? Maybe but expensive.

Citadel material stranded or adds to volume to be moved?

It used to be mainly economics but not it includes, rightly so, ESG. If all the issues could be sorted Maybe but the bar is IMO very high for synergies to get Winu(Calibre etc) and Telfer going together.

Would Telfer have the capacity to handle Havieron and Winu ore together?

Havieron as an UG operation is unlikely to put out 15 MTpa to feed the beast at Telfer. So there will be some capacity available once the cut back is complete. NCM are well aware of these considerations - JVs with active exploration is one response. Not many sources that could provide sufficient feed quickly = open pit with Jorc resources: NCM sphere Chicken Ranch, Tim's Dome 'small with OK grade', other similar ones in NCM's hands already perhaps; Minyari a distinct option; others? Grace (1990's NCM estimate 0.5Mt 1.3 pre further drilling), Lamil west of Tims at an early stage. All these are within reasonable trucking distance either on their own ground or from current or possible future JVs.

    gotta run
