I agree, but given that anyone who follows 'Mr Market' knows as an amalgam of all players (instos. and retail), 'he' can counterintuitively be irrational on occasion, what will resonate with 'him' such that he ambraces reality?

I'm sceptical that Thursday's results will see this.

There'll be all sorts of statements by QAN about how many Australians are rushing to get vaccinated, how the PM has said we must open up and not 'go rogue' as Queensland and WA plus Victoria have (Premiers backtracking on supposed National Cabinet commitments once 70 and 80 per cent vaccination rates are achieved) and how QAN is further reducing expenditure.

Then there'll be comments from management about the 'mammoth' unmet demand for air travel and how once restrictions are lifted there'll be this unstoppable wave of people booking seats and climbing on board. Plus how ready QAN is to open up through ensuring that pilots and first officers retain 'currency' (i.e. the regulatory OK to again command the relevant aircraft type).

So much 'good news' will make many 'investors' forget about the increasing debt you mention.
