ever since the states lost (income tax) taxation to the federal government… our constitution has effectively been broken. The way the constitution was set up… the federal government was never intended to become all powerful. What would happen if say a new political force burst on the scene in Qld …. had no ties to any of the major parties …. and as there is no state senate…. took back the taxing that was handed over as a temporary war measure back in the 1940’s?
