The Lithium Ion Transport and Separation (LiTAS™ units themselves are quite compact, but the housing is large enough to allow for the stringing of a number of units together, and there will be no real limitation to how many of the units can be moved onto any production site. And the potential benefits are stark: Per EnergyX’s research, the LiTAS™ membrane technology results in a 300% increase in lithium recovery, a 95% reduction in water usage and cost reductions that exceed 40%.

The challenge now is to fully commercialize the company and begin scaling up its operations. EnergyX is already conducting preliminary tests at its Austin lab and plans to begin pilot projects with multiple producers in the coming months.
